1987 Constitution Commemorative Coins
The 1987 Constitution Commemorative Coins were issued to mark the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. The two coins released featuring quill pens, an eagle, and a group of people representing Americans throughout history.The coins issued included a $5 gold coin and silver dollar. The $5 gold had a final mintage of 651,659 proof coins and 214,225 uncirculated coins, out of a maximum authorized 1,000,000. The silver dollar had a mintage of 2,747,116 proof coins and 451,629 uncirculated coins our of a maximum authorized 10,000,000.
