1991-1995 World War II Commemorative Coins
The
US Mint issued three coins carrying the dates "1991-1995" for the 50th
Anniversary of World War II. The coins were originally released in the
year 1993. The coins included a $5 gold, silver dollar, and clad half
dollar.The obverse design of the $5 gold coin and silver dollar feature American soldiers. The obverse of the half dollar features faces of a soldier, sailor, and airman. The silver dollar specifically portrayed D-Day and the other coins included the "V" for Victory.
Each of the coins was available in individual proof or uncirculated formats. There were two, four, and six coin sets also available.
