1994 Prisoner of War Museum Commemorative Coins
The Prisoner of War Museum Silver Dollar was issued for the museum that was intended to be built in Andersonville, Georgia. There were three other similarly theme commemorative coins issued that year and the US Mint offered a set of the coins packaged together.The obverse of the Prisoner of War Silver Dollar depicted an eagle in flight with a chain encircling the image, representing the eagle's break to freedom. The proof version of the coin minted at Philadelphia had a mintage of 54,893. The uncirculated version was minted at West Point with a mintage of 224,449.
