2002 West Point Commemorative Coins

A commemorative silver dollar was authorized to celebrate the bicentennial of the founding of the West Point Military Academy. Proof and uncirculated versions of the coin were struck at the United States Mint facility at West Point.

Sales of the 2002 West Point Silver Dollar were relatively strong at 103,201 for the uncirculated version and 288,293 for the proof version. This was a popular subject and encouraged collector interest. The higher mintage levels keep secondary market premiums low for present day collectors.
