2005 John Marshall Commemorative Coins
The 2005 John Marshall Silver Dollar had been authorized to celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth. He was the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The US Mint recorded sales of 67,096 uncirculated coins and 196,753 proof coins out of a maximum authorized mintage of 400,000 pieces.On the obverse of the commemorative coin is a portrait of John Marshall. The reverse shows the Old Supreme Court Chamber. Designers were John Mercanti and Donna Weaver.
